Pirate Storm is an MMORPG developed by Bigpoint. Bigpoint is behind the development of some of the best MMORPG titles in the market today such as Battlestar Galactica Online and Drakensang Online. As you can probably guess from the name, Pirate Storm is a pirate-themed MMORPG that shares many similarities with the popular browser MMO, Seafight.
Similar to the other big titles by Bigpoint, Pirate Storm is heavily based around combat and action. Players can explore a large variety of ocean filled zones, all of which have a vast array of deadly sea monsters, vicious pirates and unexplored lands. When you come up against enemy ships, it’s not only a battle of wits, but strategy and tactics also. Pirate Storm provides a players ship with 3 different sets of ammo Hull breakers, Crew killers, and Sail rippers. Each ammo has a different effect when firehe Hd. Tull Breaker ammo aims to destroy your opponent’s ship and send it to the bottom of the ocean, while the Crew Killer ammo, including primitive items such as knives and forks, is designed to kill your opponent’s crew, leaving their ship dead in the water. The final ammo type, the Sail Rippers, has been designed to destroy your opponent’s sails, leaving them utterly helpless as you barrage their ship with your cannons. These ammo types give players plenty of options to defeat enemy ships. Certain ships have different strengths and weaknesses so players need a keen eye to choose the right ammo type to destroy the enemy quickly and efficiently.
Pirate Storm also includes an auction house that players can use to purchase a huge variety of items. Like other browser-based MMORPGs, Pirate Storm does include a premium store, but these items can also be purchased for in-game currency using the auction house, a unique feature that removes the pay-to-win approach.
